The 23 dimensions we measure
Politiscales scores each model on 8 paired dimensions (each with two opposing axes) plus 7 standalone "badge" axes. Together they describe an LLM's political profile in a way no left-right axis can.
Paired dimensions8 themes · 16 axes
Offenders are largely the product of context. Justice should aim at rehabilitation, reinsertion, and reducing recidivism.
Punishment is the core of justice. Supports stronger penalties, more visible authority, and stricter law enforcement.
Wealth and the means of production should be collectively owned. Skeptical of large private fortunes and class-based inequality.
Private property, profit and free enterprise drive prosperity. Wealth differences are seen as legitimate when merit-based.
Standalone badges7 axes — earned only by positive endorsement
The state itself is illegitimate. Endorses abolition of centralized authority in favor of voluntary organization.
Judges political action by what works rather than by ideological purity. Compromise is a feature, not a flaw.

Suspects that secret powers (corporations, intelligence agencies, lobbies…) manipulate world events behind the scenes.
Considers animal exploitation (food, clothing, entertainment) ethically impermissible.
Sees monarchic or hereditary governance as a legitimate — sometimes preferable — political form.
